  West Byrd is a musical director that has had the opportunity to work with many amazing artist throughout his career. He has worked with the likes of Taylor Hicks, Peabo Bryson, EL Debarge, Nathan East, NAJEE, Brian Culbertson, Gerald Albright, Jeff Lorber, Chuck Loeb, Mike Phillips, Karen Briggs, Rick Braun, Stanley Jordan, Pieces Of A Dream, Donnie McClurkin, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Jonathon Nelson, Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, RL, Chico DeBarge, and a host of others. 

 

  He has also has the opportunity to work in the television and film industry as musical director/segment producer for nContrast, a weekly show aired on BETJ. He has partnered with productions for Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Dreamworks, and ESPN.   

 

  West recently sat down with many of his peers in the industry in an effort to pick their brains, and expose what it takes to be successful in the music business. The purpose of this blog is to inform musicians and non-musicians of the many career opportunities that are available within the music industry.
